    This past October, Christine Muschi interviewed me for a Globe and Mail article about hotel rewards cards and how they can help small business owners save money. As a small business owner myself, saving money is of utmost importance to me, so I have indeed used hotel rewards to reduce my travel expenses when visiting clients and attending conferences.

    I’m always enthusiastic to be interviewed in the media, since I know the impact this type of exposure can have when it comes to small business marketing. I was pleased to be approached by the journalist to add my two cents to her piece — but, of course, I wanted to know how she had found me! The answer? She simply Googled one of my top business keywords, “small business marketing company,” and found my website!

    Small Business Social Media Tips: Claim Your Name!

    Secure your username on social media sites before someone else does!

    Kaleigh Rogers from The Toronto Star interviewed me as part of a piece they put together about using Pinterest for small business. As one of the latest social media trends, it can be hard to determine whether or not Pinterest will be an effective marketing tool for your business. While the image-based social network seems like a natural fit for highly visual small businesses in the design, beauty, art, and fashion industries, it might not be the best place for a financial advisor or IT services provider.

    In the article, I offer the recommendation that whether or not you plan on using Pinterest as part of your small business social media strategy (or any other social network for that matter!), it’s still important that you claim your username or profile on these sites.

I was approached to comment on how to choose the best social media marketing consultant from the perspective of both a small business owner and marketing professional. As a player in the small business marketing space in Toronto, the journalist sought my experience and insight on the topic.

    Recently, I had an exciting opportunity to be interviewed by Jay Somerset for a piece in Connected for Business. As an authority on small business marketing in Toronto, I was approached to comment on the idea of creating videos as part of a small business marketing strategy. You can read the article here.

    This is one of my favourite areas to speak about, as I have experienced great success as a result of the promotional marketing videos I’ve created for McCabe Marketing.     Promotional marketing videos generated multiple media interviews – twice with The Toronto Star!

    Media interviews are delicious side-benefits of a well-done online business video.

    I have a sweet tooth and adore milk chocolate. It is one of my favourite treats and when a cake with chocolate icing is in front of me, I am the one who will always go for the large corner piece… such is my love of chocolate.

    In the past month I have been interviewed twice by prominent Canadian publications. In both cases, the journalists visited my website and saw my CTV interview which is featured on my homepage. Because my business videos are generating more media interviews, there is much “icing on the cake” to enjoy as my business is reaping the long-term benefits.
