The Epoch Times: Shen Yun is “far more than entertainment,” says Marketing Consultant.

I have watched the Shen Yun Performing Arts TV commercials for years and wanted to see the production; I never went because the tickets were expensive. To celebrate my 65th birthday in a memorable way, I purchased the best seat in the Toronto Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, specifically the Grand Ring, centre seat, for $350. Was it worth the price? You bet; after the show, I was interviewed, which immediately captured how I felt.
A new show is presented every year. I was thrilled to speak with a dancer, as I wanted to understand why they only performed six months a year; she shared that they take six months to learn the dances! Enjoy the 30-second Shen Yun Performing Arts 2024 trailer and experience the magic.
Two hosts spoke both Chinese and English, introducing the series of dances and the soloist series, which was insightful. Shen Yu is more than a performance with vibrant costumes, stellar backdrops, and original music; we learned it’s a revival of the beauty and goodness of traditional Chinese culture before the advent of communism.
According to the Shen Yun website, traditional Chinese culture is rooted in the spiritual teachings of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. The Chinese people maintained a close connection to these spiritual elements in their culture until the Chinese Communist Party seized power and enforced its atheist ideologies.
