Happy Canada Day

Canada is a country that is working to understand its mistakes and trying to address them. At least that is the Canada I know.

As we look back over the past few months – at the heroic efforts of our front-line workers, the hundreds of businesses who stepped up, and the thousands of volunteers who put up their hand to help – we can all feel pride.

I have never been prouder to be a Canadian than at this very moment in Ontario’s history.

And Canada Day gives us a chance to celebrate the extraordinary actions of these heroic people. Our neighbours. Our friends. Our fellow Canadians.

The challenges we have faced together over the past few months have only made us stronger.

We have been put to the test as a province and as Canadians. And we were able to rise to the occasion.

There are still great challenges ahead of us, beyond COVID-19. I love Canada because we are a work in progress and I think we all know it.

Canada is a country that is working to understand its mistakes and trying to address them. At least that is the Canada I know.

I live in the greatest country in the world. (Yep, I know as Canadians we don’t say things like this – but we should.)

And as we all celebrate this great country, I’d just like to remind everyone to stay safe and continue to follow the public health advice.
