How are you celebrating Labour Day?
By Maureen McCabe
Labour Day (French: Fête du Travail) is a statutory public holiday in Canada, observed on the first Monday in September.
To all those celebrating a long weekend with friends and family, Happy Labour Day Weekend!
Today’s a day to:
- Recognize and celebrate Canadian workers, who are the backbone of our economy.
- Recognizing the hard work of generations past, we wouldn’t have the Canada we know and love.
- Celebrate the everyday heroes who power our economy, keep our homes heated, and our shelves stocked.
- Celebrate the dignity of work — the sense of accomplishment, community, and pride in a job well done.
And if we want to build a better future, we must support our workers and help them succeed.
